With my 1958 6V volltage regulator broken (generator works) I have had to charge my battery to get her going. However, the battery drains fairly quickly and with not alot of load (no lights, etc.) or drive time. I start-it up, idle for about 5 mins, drive a mile and back. After two times my battery is weak as a kitten and won't start the engine. Could there be a short that is draining it and how do you go about finding that? Or is my battery shot or DOA as it's only 6 months old? Or is that a normal battery draining events and time with no generator refresh? Sorry - that was 3 questions

Most batterys can't take being run down often.
How long are you charging the battery and is it fully charged?

If its only 6 months old take it back and have them charge /test it. If its toasted you should be able to warrenty it out.

I do charge it full. Been about 8 times. I'll go the route of taking the battery back and having it tested out or replaced. If good - I got something else. Txs,
