another lift ?

    It may be the better option.
    I'd call them it lists BDS and a few others as having differant bushings, just to make sure you get the right ones.

    I did say that I use different shackles front and back to compensate for sagging rear springs due to extra weight in the rear... I use the 1 1/4" lift shackles in the rear, and only 1/2" lift shackles in the front.

    I wouldn't recommend using different length shackles on the same axle. Jeep lean was usually fixed by the dealer using a block in the rear between the spring pack and perch

    Dennis: The PO on mine first put on the Pro Comp 2.5" lift. At the same time he lowered the Xcase/Trans crossmenber by about 1 1/16". He then added later 1.5" extended shackles on it (for tire clearance). The rear diff has about a 3* shim under the springs.

    I would start with everything stock. Your new springs should come with a shim for the rear diff. I prolly would lower the trans Xmember by about an inch also (easy to do--1" square tube or shims like mine). I still have the stock brake lines, but have some SS extended ones sitting in the garage for the next brake job.

    Billy: Maybe not, but the PO did it. The Xmember drop helps with the pinion angle on the rear DS. With 33" tires, he aparently has them rubbing the inside of the rear wheel well. The 1.5" shackles provide an extra 3/4" lift. Also the front control arm that comes off the pitman arm is within 3/8" of the Ft. spring. It would only hit the spring at full extension. No evidence of it hitting so far. I could always switch the the connecting point of that rod to the top of the knuckle with one of "Goferit"'s adaptors.

    Like I said, start with stock and then see what you may need.

    welp, sorry for putting the words in your mouth lynn... looks like i misunderstood everything anyway. it was a long time ago, and i stil haven't justified the money on the shackles to myself.

    Jim, that's exactly the problem i had after the lift, but one f the wraps was right where the link wanted to go. the rod end flip fixed it up... the linkages are nearly flat across the front now, which is better than they were stock.

    I run a bds on my '74. It has the same 1.75" springs as the earlies. It rides much better than stock. Not so happy with the shocks though. I have the skyjacker hydros and they are too stiff. I think I would have been happier with the rancho 9000s.

    this kit comes with bds shocks, so i have no clue how good they are
