    Hey all,

    Couple questions,

There in an AMC DJ5L at the local pick a part right now.

I wanted to know if it would be possible to put the dj5l front bumper on my CJ.

Looking at it, it looked doable, but I couldn't tell what kind of modifications would be needed to make it work.

Comments are appreciated. I'll be going back this week to get some other parts, so I'll be taking a look at it again.

The DJ also had good fenders, and I wondered the same about putting them on my CJ.

    Any thoughts?

    Bad idea?

I think it will work with some drilling. There are braces for the end of the bumper that go to the side of the frame. You will have to drill the frame for those bolts.

You can see the top of the brace here.

It also bolts to the end of the frame like a CJ. I would measure the connection points to see if it would work for you.

And the fenders will work fine. A little trimming on the fender well for the shock mounts will be required.

Thanks Mark, I'll be back there to take a look at it late next week, and we'll see what I can use.

I have some DJ front fenders that I'm going to try and use on my CJ5. I haven't tried them yet but they look the same except that the DJ has some more turn signals and they don't have a reinforcement that goes under the fender. It looks like a hat channel and I'm planning on using the one from my CJ fenders.

This was a postal front bumper that a modified to what you see now. they will bolt up minus the side braces as mentioned before.

And the postal fenders will fit, you have to cut a notch the fender where the shock mount will go.

An update to this post. Both DJ fenders had more damage than I thought, and I passed on them.
The bumper, I didn't realize was riveted. I wasn't able to remove it, and had to leave for summer camp.
So, I'll keep an eye out for another bumper.
