How's the bushing look? I dont think I can use a piece of gaspipe. I'll see what I have in the way of scrap later, IIRC I Have some thick walled stuff.

Hmmm Maybe 6volt isn't the way to go after all. Let's see cost of one wire alt and battery, versus replacement of gen or regulator and still have a system that at best works okay. It's all becomiung quite clear. Just a few more cold ones and I'll be ready to plunk down the spastic plastic to get new parts ordered!! Thanks for the bracket drawings!!!!

I had the same issue. I just turned a chuck of steel on the lathe and drilled a hole
for the bolt. I made sure the bushing was shorter then the hole so it wouldn't stick
out beyond the bracket. It's more of a sleeve for the attaching bolt.

I have no metal lathe though. Right now Kaiser's plan sounds best IMO

K it's done and has been. I built it as how Kaiser suggested. My only problem with it is it's about 1/4" offset  I mocked it up, measured, used a ruler, clamped, checked again, welded, throw another belt on and it's off center  I don't see it as a problem, the belt will maybe wear out a month prematurely.

If I remember correctly Statewide 4WD still has the alternator bracket and I believe they can sell you the alternator as well.
They're a good source of parts for the older Jeeps. 602-944-0396
