No solutions here from me - but I would greatly appreciate if you would post a couple pics of the fenders and cracking. I might have some similar issues and am looking forward to some of the responses and how applicable they might be.

    thanks

Mine cracked there too. I put a piece of 20ga steel across the inside behind the cracks to stiffen them up. That has worked so far.

Both front fenders on my Tux cracked (one crack each) right in the middle of the bottom straight portion on the very front of the fenders. I got a piece of 1/4X1/4 angle steel from H Depot and welded pieces about 3 inches in length into the lip where the fender is crimped. I did bend a slight curve in the angle steel to match the slight curve of the fenders. Welded the cracks and filed smooth. After painting my jeep, you wouldn't know it was there (the repair) unless you knew where to look. Have not had the cracks come back after more than 2 years.

I like Walt's fix. If you just weld the cracks they are liable to come back. The problem is that there is some flexing going on there that, if you don't address, will cause them to crack again right next to the weld.

    X2.

My stock fenders were cracked and repaired with actual welding and JB weld by the PO.
Even without tire contact, three trips to Calico cracked them where Posi described all over again.

My fenders were cracked back when I bought the Jeep. I welded up the cracks and added the missing grill stay rods. Since then they have never cracked again. That was 20 years ago.
