haha thanks for the advise and I agree, i dont see myself using a floor jack and 4x4 blocks. I dont have any heavy equipment either...I got a large cherry picker but it wont lift high enough to fully flex her out. I almost thought about rolling the jeep ON TOP of the cherry picker boom, strapping her down and lifting that way but Im not really diggin that idea...the jeep is a grumpy old goat and if i anger him in any way, he will roll himself right off.

Thats funny, I was just going to suggest a cherry picker. I've seen people use a short chain around the end of the axle or through the wheel to lift it.

Since I don't have a cherry picker I just use the floor jack. I usually just take off one of my wheels and let that side all the way down to the ground, then jack up the other side. No matter what you do this method is fairly sketchy. Go slow and think things through. Don't get under the vehicle untill you KNOW its safe! Preferably don't get under it!

The cherry picker is actually one of the safer ways since it can't shift and fall off the jack.

Thats why i originally used the cherry picker. I used my 4 inch jerk strap (two strap, whatever you wanna call it) and went through the wheel and around the top of the tire twice to make a nice fat loop. Then I laid the cherry picker boom on top of the tire and looped the chain through my strap loop and hooked the chain back to itself. This only gave about 3 inches of lift before everything got tight and the tire started to come up. Trouble is, the cherry picker does not go high enough to max out my suspention. Fully extended, i had plenty of flex left to go. My brother in law has another cherry picker, a bigger one that you tow behind a truck so once i finish welding all my mounts in place and fix some places on the frame, i will try that one and see how far i can get with the big one. I'll post some pictures in my build thread once I do.
