Happy monday to everyone :) hope you had a nice week-end as i have.

I have tested my set-up and i can't be more happy with the overall experience.

Tow rig set-up is really nice when you have some distance to cover.

We were trailing at an mountain that use to host a radar from the pinetree radar line in the 50's.

It was more rock crawling trail. I'm use on the mud/rock type of trail. Engine and transmission combo worked great.

My younger one was able to take a nap while in the trail :p He's 3 years old but i use to bring him since he has 1 1/2.

Had a very nice sunday trail. Been invited by a jeep club to do a boundary trail (canada/usa) in the appalchian mountain. Been riding with 15 other jeep...i was the only cj in the group. i was able to show an old jeep can keep up with the newer one (only 3 jeep include me that has been able to climb that cliff)

Hi guy's, time for a little upgrade for the rear trac bar. Always run in the past cheap rod end. Never had a rod end that didnt came loose after 1-2 years of use/abuse. So last spring i did order some johnny joint. Just didnt have the motivation to swap them. So yesterday while doing a bolt check i decided to make the move.

Project still going. I finaly pull the trigger on this unit. It was suppose to be my 2021 project. The rear lincoln locker has become a PITA. Work great off road since it can be unlock but i'm tired of all the people looking at me when i turn corner. Now with this selectable i will enjoy it more on the road. Good thing is the locker already come with a dual size drilled. If someday i want to get more gear 3.73 right now i just have to use a thick gear and it will allow to go 4.10 and more.

Suppose to get it by friday. Hopefully make the job on next monday with my mecanic friend.

    Major set-back tonight
I did all my research before ordering but didnt think about the fact i have 3/8" bolt on my current ring gear. The locker is drill for 7/16" and 1/2" hole.

Eaton website has a part chart and i have the rivht locker for my application (dana 44 from inter scout 2)

Yukon gear are making sleeve for 7/16" to 3/8". Have ordered then by now.

I have 7/16 bolt and it wont get in the 7/16 hole of the locker. I may need to redrill it.

I will email summit and eaton to check over those two problem.

I've been trought the install manual couple's of time yesterday night. I found this.
    225994127_292776922620983_1716761495021647175_n.jpg

Point C state that 7/16" hole are indeed use for 3/8" and 7/16" bolt. But even if they say that i'm not confident on the long terme. My actual carrier the 3/8" are tight in the hole, leaving no play.
Since i already ordered the sleeve. I will go with them because i prefer to be in the tight spot than too loose. I use to play a lot in the winter snow and were going often from forward to reverse and i will not be confident in my install.

I also have at my store a 7/16 reamer in case i need to work out the 7/16" hole to a true 7/16" hole.

Gear bolted on the locker. With the sleeve it's a tight fit.

    234754565_233073548710710_4973093359806940742_n.jpg

Had to start again with the backslash set-up. Had to use one less shim on the magnet side. Final backslash is 0.006" little bit on the tight side but still within the spec (0.006-0.010).

Hole is drilled for the wire, all wiring is done inside the jeep.

Tonight i wil be able to finish getting everything back together and i'll be ready for a road test :)

Got everything working in good order

I went out a 20h30 yesterday for a little test drive. About 10 minutes of driving, everything electrical went blackout, engine quit, no sign of life.

Got back home with a friend of mine, took some tools and never been able to start the jeep back. When i was getting back power, everytime i was trying to start it just made a big " click " and again goes to black out.

Had to call a towing since i didnt know if it was battery or the wiring the problem. I could have use my trailer but i didn't know if battery will be good to winch my jeep on the trailer.

Finaly got the jeep back home, put the battery on the charger.

This morinng, charger said battery was full and i still have the same symptom as before. Getting power on ignition position but as soon has i'm trying to crank a big click and everything goes black again.

On last minutes effort before going to work, i have clamp the battery therminal 45 degree off where it was before and everything started as it should.

So new battery terminal is on his way.

Little update. Been on a 150 miles road trip yesterday with my local 4x4 club. Drivability is way better without a full lock rear axle. Jeep is running great with his rebuilt suspension.

    Another week-end of great wheeling.

Same pass on the boundary as the one in june. There less vegetal since a lot of people as try it out in the last 2 month. It was a little harder. You don't see it but it's the third attempt on the video.
