Fixing "sick glass"

    Anybody have any dealings with sick glass? My windshield glass has a cloudy haze around the bottom like it needs to be defrosted. From what i could find out it needs to be polished out mechanically. Suggestions?

    Probably the plastic layer in the middle going bad.

    If it is, no amount of polishing is going to fix that.

    The clouding usually happens between the layers of glass, where it's laminated.

    Bad plastic, got it. The sick glass articles were dealing with antique glass which apparently can be buffed. Thanks fellas!

    find a local glass guy they can cut a new one cheaper than buying and shipping one

    I bought one last year for $98 shipped.. I can't remember where I got it though. Some Jeep place in Oregon IIRC.

    wow that is cheap. ive been quoted 45 for the windshield... and thats with a light tint...
