I sourced the distributor ($49.99 Advance Auto) and an Ignition Module (28.99 Advance).

I read alot of that thread and there was a lot of talk about CID.

Should I wait and go ahead and get the CID module? Is it worth the cost over the stock module?

I also plan on doing the "Team Rush" upgrade with ford parts once I have the duraspark Distributor.

So finally ready to make a move on this ignition issue.

I am now thinking that since I have to replace the dizzy anyway I am going to go the HEI route. Anyone have experience with the CRT unit? $120 from their website. I like the HEI because it is so simple and cleans up the engine bay.

I am still open to the duraspark route. I priced everything and the dizzy is $48, and the rotor, cap, adapter, plugs, and wires are about $80 and then I would need an ignition module so another $30-$40. So the price is almost the same either way. I've read that this setup can produce more spark with a CDI box, but i wasnt really planning on spending that much money at this time.

    All feedback/opinions are welcome!!!

I went with the hei for the same reasons, cleaning up the engine bay and better performance. My only complaint is the size of the hei cap, bit if thats the worst complaint I can come up with, I think im in petty good shape.
I test drove the jeep last yesterday and that hei made a world of difference, as well as the new fuel pump.haha

I also used an 86 CJ electronic distributor and converted to the Ford TFI and HEI module. Couldn't ask for a better system, and from what I've read, it has higher voltage to the spark plugs than the HEI.
