Well, after searching this site, as well as the web, I've come to the conclusion that there is no bikini top offered for a 3a. Those of you that are running the ecj5 tops, How is the fitment? Does anyone have pics of their flatty with one installed? I'm just curious how they look before I drop the dough on a cj5 version? It's getting pretty hot out here in California, and I'm tired of my @#$ burning on the seat when I leave the jeep parked in the sun. Thanks for the help.

Im running an ECJ5 bikini top that I altered to fit. It was very easy to narrow the front edge and re-hem it. Found it on fleabayfor about 25 bux.

Is it true, as said in the link, that the '76 and later tops are narrower, and will fit a flatty better?

Yes they will but still will be a little wide. I personally take old truck tonnau covers that people are selling and cut them to the length and fit that I want. I am going to make a cover right now for my trailer from a tonnau cover

    Okay,
I purchased a bikini for the '76 and later CJ5 from Quadratec. Will be here next week. I'll post some pics once I get it installed. Thanks for all your help.

    Well,
I got it installed the best I could. It's not a perfect fit, but It keeps the sun off my head. This is the top for 76 and later cj5's. It's still about two inches too wide for the flatty windshield frame. As you can see in the pics, I put the snaps on the front of the frame versus the sides. This was to keep the side of the top from looking wrinkly. It's the best way I could see doing it.
