And you still have spongy brakes....

Bleed, bleed, bleed, bleed, bleed, bleed, and bleed some more.

I put new everything up front, new master cylinder, 2 pound residual valve, new shoes and drums in back, hooked up my power bleeder, and pedal bled the brakes....took it out a few times and still wasn't happy with the brakes...even after all this, I still had to double pump the pedal. So after 2 weeks of not liking the brakes at all even though I bled over a quart of fluid through the system....

...I decided to pedal bleed the brakes again. Low and behold, the first bleed on each side belched out air into the bleed hose. I bled through 6 or 7 times on each side.... NIGHT AND DAY difference. I now, officially have brakes.

Moral to the story....keep bleeding...there's air in there somewhere. Sometimes just giving it time will work it up to the caliper.

*Picture serves no purpose other that the disc subject and the fact that pictures in posts are cooler*

Yes! The ice cream containers rock! I have no idea where I even got the two I have from...they just seem to "hang around" the garage for eons.

I'm using a fenco reman OE replacement. Interestingly enough, the catalog shows the same dual MC for Jeepster / CJ all the way up to the late 70's and even shows for some disc brake applications, which was odd to me.

After bleeding this time, the brakes are rock solid....pads still aren't even completely bedded in yet...so I'm sure it will be much better to drive when they do.

Ice cream containers, plastic coffee cans, small drywall compound buckets, reduce, recycle re-use :D.
What flex lines did you end up using?

I want to say they were 80-82 Chev truck...just original replacements. They seem to work fine and don't come anywhere near rubbing.

Thanks. I know I've read which ones to use a hundred times, maybe I'll remember this time.
