They use rear wheel steering trucks and trailers all over in Europe. LOTS of them in England when we visited.
I've tried both Popular Mechanics and Popular Science but no luck. I'll keep looking and will let you know if I find it.

I was just thinking "Baby Gama Goat". My cousin likta drown in one them in AIT before he went to Vietnam. They told him to "Hit The Water Hard & Gouge On It Coming Out". Never made it to the other bank, sank like a rock!
I almost sunk one in the early 80's running chow. Rear tailgate was sprung and it began going down by the "stern". Let's just say everything was up side down and wet for breakfast....
Did the same thing with my dad's jeep, with a "first date" girlfriend driving. We ended up spending 16 years together.
we referred to them as a 15K dollar anchor . they replaced 1 1/4 ton trucks
