Hello, Happy Holidays To All . This Is A Great Site ,keep Up The Fine Work. I Need Help Buying A Gas Filler Neck And Groment For My Stock 1974 Cj5 With Tank In The Back. Any Help Would Be Greatly Apreciated, thanks. For What It Is Worth I Purchased A Set Of Repro Halls Taillights From A Well Known Willys Dealer ,i Was Told By Them That These Were Closest To Original. The Lights Were Nice Looking ,but Not The Best In Quality. Right Out Of The Box , One Did Not Work ,upon Checking It Out I Found The Spring Had Pushed The Poor Fitting Retainer And Bulb Out Of The Over Painted Socket.i Now Think I Would Have Been Better Off To Buy The Trailer Lights And Put Them On There.it Would Hav E Been A Lot Cheaper. Thanks Tom H

Do you have a picture of the taillights you bought? Or a link? I have been looking for repro for a long time.

Tom, you have the caps-lock on? Could you turn it off? I think the site changes all-caps to capitalize every word. I'm having a hard time reading your post.

You're interested in taillights and gas filler.

Lights: there's no exact replacement available aftermarket AFAIK. If you don't like what the parts dealer sent you, send them back. That's the only way a proper reproduction will ever be made.

You can get the lenses though, so if you can find some old housings, you can assemble them. All you need are the housings - the socket and pigtail are easy to find. Otherwise go to your local RV supply and pick out some trailer lights that you like.

Filler neck: What parts do you need? I think the hose, grommet and cap are available, but the filler (that the cap goes on) and the vent fitting are not. Don't know about the vent hose. You'll have to scrounge, fabricate, or adapt something from another model if you need something that's NLA.

Best of the season to you too!

    Tom,
I had no luck finding a new filler neck for my '73 CJ5. Wound up welding and beating the original back into something close to okay shape. The rubber filler hose (the one with the hole for the vent hose) is available several places. The vent hose (1" I think) is not available, but the 1" for a later model can be cut to length and used. I had to use a grommet for the earlier CJ with the underseat tank and grind the hole in my body out a little larger so it would fit. The inside diameter of the grommet was okay.
    Good luck.
