71 cj5 master cylinder push rod length

Does anyone know the length of the push rod for a dual resvoir master cylinder for a 71 cj5 v6? This is for the master cylinder that has the two half domes on the cover and his held done by the wire clip.

Does the push rod slide into the cylinder approx. 2 inches?

I have this same vehicle, but the dual reservoir master cylinder has a cap that is retained by a single bolt. I think yours has been changed from the original. As far as the slide length, 2" sounds about right. I'm assuming this engagement is from rest to full brake application.

 

I am going to pick up the master cylinder at Napa (UP 36365) that your are talking about tomorrow. Hopefully it will come with the correct push rod. It is just about 5 times the cost of the other master cylinder that most auto stores show for the 71'. cardone #10-1292, Fenco #1292, tru stop 10292. This is what was in the jeep, the rod I have does not go into the master cylinder, so that is a little scary.

Do you know if the Rectangle master cylinder has built in residual valves. I am running disc on the front, so i am wondering if I will need to remove from one of the outlets.
