68 Cj5 ?

Good day all new to the forum so hello.
i have a chance to trade my 2007 outlander 800 for a 1968 cj5 with the daultess v6 if i spelled that right lol, its got a pretty decent hardtop and doors and not much rust, and there's a a parts jeep same year and motor and another hardtop and doors which is super rare, and a bunch of parts, I've owned 1975 cj5 and a 1983 cj7 so this is not my 1st jeep, ? is is this a rare find and should i jump on it, i don't use my quad very much like twice in the last 2 years lol, anyways tell me what your thinking

The Dauntless 225 Oddfire V6 is a great engine. Lots of torque (heavy flywheel to compensate the odd fire)
Not rare though to have the v6 in the ‘68 CJ5.

The Dauntless V6 was available in the Kaiser era CJ5's from 1966-1971, so somewhat limited or rare. It is a nice motor and was a big upgrade over the 4 cyl of the era. Rare though is a relative term, in these old CJ's it generally means they can be tougher to find, but doesn't translate into collector value. Generally speaking, the V6 may add a few hundred dollars to the value over a 4 cyl, but not thousands.

In US dollars, a 12 yr old quad (Canadian term) in good condition is likely a $3,500-4,000 item and generally in the ballpark of what a running, fair condition 68 Cj5 is worth. As mentioned, we would need more pictures and details, but it looks like a project as opposed to a running Jeep.

Welcome from Michigan, it would be hard to say what that jeep is worth, It is worth what you want to give for it I guess. I love my 64, so it is worth a lot to me. The hood with a snorkel port is older than a 66. My 66 donor didn't have a snorkel port. Anyway Welcome.

it is a running jeep new brakes gas tank, 2 sets of hard tops and doors, parts jeep that has a really good tub. the inside is pretty decent don't have a pic on the computer of the inside but it looks pretty decent.

he did send me a video of it running seems to run ok, i read that these dauntless v6 has a weird rumble to them

 

way up here in Canada my quad is worth about $5500-6, that's with are AWSOME dollar value haha, he's asking the same amount for the 2 jeeps and parts etc.
