'62 Cj5 Exhaust Manifold Broken Studs And Coolant Leak

    Welcome from Michigan. I have never seen the side cover bolt hole leak like that. But what these guys say has always worked for me. In theory the block never gets hotter than 190*, in theory, so what sealer you use should be in that range or better. I have used, with success, what Greevesmans suggested on the exhaust studs, so I don't see why it would not work for what you want. Good Luck.

    Okay, so this is what the "after" pics look like. I appreciate all the information, and I wanted to get back with you all after repairs were completed. Ended up using the high temp permatex on the exhaust studs, and for the one stud leaking inside the valve cover, I went with a stud in high temp permatex... with a viton O-ring up against the coolant jacket, then a washer, and then locked it with a nut. Still have other work to be done before we get it running, but will monitor the oil consistency and coolant levels going forward to make sure it's a good fix. Thanks again for the help.
