60/40 Bench Seats: Finally found 'em

Howdy howdy!

I just wanted to post up some bench seats I picked up out of a 1964 Tux Mk. IV. They came out of a green tux in the Tricities area. They are still fairly comfy!

Does anyone know if these seats originally come with adjustable sliders for the drivers side? Mine has them and I'm not entirely sure if it was a stock option back in the day..

Also does anyone have reference pictures as to how these puppies bolt up?

No Adjustment on those puppies..........other than those brackets should have 2-3 holes in them and the door jamb on the driver side also has a couple of mounting locations so the complete seat will mount in a few places..........the folding Passengers side is one position...............Those are pretty Rare to the right guy, don't cut them up!

 

I scored them for a cool 150...and an 8 hour there drive to get them. I'll have to post pictures of the sliders on it to show you. It's weird, like you said Tarry, the only adjustments I know of are on the seat frame itself...

I think maybe they were from a willys pickup or wagon. Not entirely sure. I'll keep you posted though

If I can get my CJ up and running I'd love to do some of the trail out there near Kennewick.

 

Those are the seats in my 65. No adjustment except the bolt holes. I have the drivers side all the way back the the wheel is still rubbing my belly. (my fault)

 

Those are the same as my original '65 Tux, except for color. Mine had slide adjusters on the 2/3 side. The lever sticks out the side by the door opening.
It looks like yours has that same lever sticking out too. Did you check to see if there are tracks between the frame and seat base? If so, you scored even better! They should have about 1 1/4" pleats under those covers if the upholstery is original.

The 60/40 (more like 70/30) in my 6 does not have sliders. Only the adjustment holes like Tarry mentioned.

 

My 65 tux was built in late 64. It had the 2/3 1/3 seats and seat adjusters on the driver side. The driver's side used bolts directly into the floor. The passenger side used a drop in bracket on the front and the seat tilted. I put two crutch tips on the back of the passenger frame which cushioned the metal to metal. The springs in the seat were pretty weak but did give a better ride than the foam seats in the 71.

The seat cover on m38a1 passenger back portion has been an old Led Zeppelin tshirt for two years now.

 

I have the same seat in my 59 and no slider just 3 different bolt positions. It's kinda funny I didn't see jeep parts for sale locally in tri cities since I have an app that watches for me

 

That passenger seat has another rubber covered leg on the right side of it that mine doesn't have. Not sure what that means though

 

Mark's pictures are the exact same seats my '65 Tux came with, even the color. These Tuxes came with sliding seat tracks on the driver's side only. I have an earlier seat of 1/3, 2/3 seats that have no sliders, they just bolt in to the set of three holes on the tub.
It sounds like there is a narrow window of production where the sliding adjuster was used.

Well we do have some green curtains in the bedroom that I might be able to wrangle for ya....
