I'd go with the oldest date you can claim legitimately, for purposes of inspection and registration etcetera. Older vehicles get more breaks and lower fees.

Agree that normally I would go with whatever the title says...but in this case that might not apply. In this situation, or just in general conversation, I would probably go by whatever the body year is. Its the most recognizable part of a vehicle with the most defining characteristics to the observer on the street. The rest - like the frame and drive train etc - is hidden.

BTW - sweet looking jeep. I like the color - even the wheels....

when i got the jeep the title wasn,t signed by po so never was registered. so got receipt for jeep and kept all receipts for parts like fenders ,body ,d27 every thing . applied for builders title in indiana police comes over and check if it has a serial number if no number they sign the papers the dmv gives you ,the dmv sends a serial number i got a data plate on ebay took it to a engraver put the plate on jeep the police come back to check if number is on jeep signs title papers go to bmv 200$ for title 200$ for tags and register it. only bad is, it is a 2015 no antique tags

To me the appearance is 59, because of the battery box cover. But 99.999% of people you meet won't know that.

If your title says 2015, how will you get it to pass any inspection or emissions?

May not be a big issue, but if you had to sell it, someone like me in a location that requires emissions could not buy it with a 2015 title as it wouldn't pass emissions. It would limit potential buyers - but realistically not many of us buy and sell vehicles out of state, and obviously not all states or locations have emissions. And maybe you won't ever sell it anyway :)
