This one looks like a project. Not mine, no stake in this whatsoever.

I'm intrigued by the window (can't tell if it's just a split window or safari) and the winch though, may have to go get a closer looksee.

    Doesn't look like much rust.

It might have a chrysler engine in it since they didn't pop the hood and take a photo (says '4cyl v8' in link at bottom here) . Who knows.

I'd be inclined to put $250 on it and let it ride. Winch, lockouts, title, maybe some old school rims to polish out.

Looks like they were going to put a fuel tank in the rear...........then maybe decided it looked better up front!

Guessing by the paint schemes, bumpers, switches, radio antenna mount, etc. I'd say maybe ex-Fire Dept.

Buyer beware on the odometer milage - I believe an OEM '56 speedo was the "8" type, not the "9"

That's an interesting piece for sure. Got some good parts there the way it looks. Looks like a hodge podge but some good stuff just the same. I agree with Pete on the speedo. And I don't see that it's a fold out windshield as I don't see any latches. Just a split I guess.

took a closer peek today at this.

It has a v8 under the hood. Covered in mouse/rat feces. 4-barrel carb sits atop it.

It has power steering, did not deeply inspect, tucked upfront under the big-A wench and looked to be a saginaw setup.

Shifter makes me wonder if the transmission was swapped to a car transmission, IDK, wasn't interesting enough to pull back the carpet or crawl on the ground.

That winch is a ramsey 8k electric winch. It's big.

Windshield is just an early split window, not ventilated, but it's in what first blush says 'good shape' and glass is not cracked.

Tires are rotting off the rims and you need either new wheels/tires or a trailer to move this off the site.

The rear axle is setup for free-float, but it's a narrow track centered diff (or was cut down?), and the driveline is still attached to the t18 transfer, so it's running at about a 20* angle off center. (lookin thru the hole in the bed).

The tailgate is dust in my opinion. birdcrap welds, rust and a bunch of heavy shiz mounted to it. I'm guessing the east coast folks have seen worse and rescued it.

body has some rust, not horrible.

Glovebox latch present and accounted for, and works. Glovebox is "custom" galvanized sheet metal.

    Project is a nice term.

    Someone should rescue it.

Oh, you'd better strap that hood down when you hit the freeway. It's more than loose on the hinges.

wehooboooy no thank you. enough projects around the house the missuz would have my hide at this point. IF it were a decent 65-67 convertible pony, I could probably get by with that (her dream sunday car).

I think that's about the limit of parts that are on this rig.

I walked the lot yesterday, saw those and chuckled too. I have no idea. I'm guessing that all the metal work stuff, someone might have sourced a couple of those, I think there was a nice 'rack' next to them as well (small version of the plywood racks at HD).

I agree 500 bucks is the limit on that poor little jeep. At least you tried.

The auction site shows this Jeep went for $1,100. Pretty high price for the looks of it!
