Never seen one of these before...4 door pickup with a little short bed, just like 90% of the new pickups sold today. This truck was 40 years ahead of it's time!

    Love that.
There’s a ~’74 pea-green version of that about an hour from here that we pass when we go to our summer home-away-from-home. It’s just sitting in a field untouched. I’m dying to ask about it, but I don’t need another project. We can’t save them all.

I just saw one driving through Lincoln about a week and a half back. They are pretty unique for their era. I thought it was a custom job until I looked into it

The old Naval base on Hatteras (Buxton) used to have two of those up through the mid-70s. One had the roof rust off at the gutter.

That is so awesome, I'd drive the heck out of that. The scout had something similar, that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head, but it was basically a 60's "Chevy Avalanche". Would love one of those too.

It looks like another one in orange right next to it. Check out the optional fuel filler on the front fender by the emblem.

The ‘60’s were a half cab or pickup cab. The Scout 2 was a pickup top or half cab. There was a version called a Scout Terra with a removable half cab that makes it a pickup. That’s the frame I shortened and have under my CJ-6 project. It was around 18 inches or so longer than a Scout 2. There was a Traveller model on the same chassis with a full hard top.

tons of those pickups were used as crummy’s in the logging and oil industries.

The one I was thinking of is the International Scout Wagonmaster. I guess they were made in the 70's, not the 60's like I thought.

Those Wagonmasters are one of the most rare of the breed.

It really is too bad International stopped making smaller vehicles. I feel like the scouts and these trucks were way ahead of their times. Even with their farm equipment, they were ahead of john deere and the other big companies. The 1918 international titan I have was the first small, successful and practical tractor for its time.

    It’s older than I remembered. Looks mid-60s.

If I get it, it’ll sit here just like that until I get time to work on it. I like to think they’re just storing it for me. Maybe I should go sneak in there and soak the whole thing down with penetrating oil once per year. :ninja:
