The thumbnail doesn't really do it justice...one more wet sanding and clear coat to go...the side pipes still need cutting off...but I'm so excited I should be wearing a diaper, we've come a long way from the Avatar beginning last march...

Dana, the paint job is awsome. BTW what are you running for tires and rims?

35" BFG M/T on black steel rims. 4 wheel parts had a pretty good sale awhile back. I probably should have stuck with 33s, but the price difference was like $20/tire and I talked myself into it. I had to shorten the tailpipes though, as the ends were too close to the rear tires.

Great color . . . I remember Road Runners painted that color in the 1970's (but then I'm an old fart!)
Did you build that rear bumper or buy it?

No, its a Dupont Hot hues color- it looked different on the 1" chip square R) , but I still like it! They call it Blush Rose. Built, and I initially screwed up by not realizing the mounting holes on the crossmember aren't symmetrical. I didn't end up saving any money (time being worth something), so I'm going to buy a front bumper. The paint shop also painted the bumper, dash, windshield frame, rollbar and misc items the same black color. The seats and top for it are black.

Good information. I would have assumed that they were symmetrical as well. I'm picking up the steel for mine this weekend (if all goes as planned). Any other tips? / suggestions?

if i get home this year we gotta do some beach cruising.... that color and my orange would be visible from the moon R)

*PS: dont know your plans but some TJ flares would help out with creating some more space for the 35"s

I was just going to get stock replacements...didn't think about TJ flares...I'm always up for a beach cruise! Do the stock flares impede the tires that much? The catalog pics they look small and unintrusive...

the TJ flare allows you to trim a little sheet metal... here look at this, though its a YJ to TJ, the CJ to TJ flare works the same way.

The Avatar is the before photo- 2 hours of yardwork to drag it home! It was originally Trans Am Red I think.
