I'm trying to find paint sample colors online and having a heck of a time finding charts. Anyone know of some sites?

PPG has lots of pinks but I can't find color charts to actually see the color. None are production colors I think, though some may be old colors but it won't let you serach like that.

They , too, want a specific model year and maker. They don't let you search by "red", and let you see all the red choices. House of Kolor is even worse. Not to make anybody cringe, but I don't want any of the original AMC colors. I like the metallic style paints that cars have been getting the last few years. I never realized it would be so hard...I figured color charts would be all over the web!

Chances are, they aren't going to show up too well on your monitor, anyway. If you go into your local paint shop, they have books upon books of nothing but paint chips.

Maybe you could go to the local Pep Boys and look at the cans of touch-up color.

Try calling or going to Jeep Dealer or Dodge Deal. Should have the specs you need.

Dealers can't help because no one has factory pink cars I don't think (though I did try guessing at 1950 models of Cadillac, etc in autolibrary)... the Pep boys is a possibility though. PPG has a lot of specialty colors that were never stock. I'm surprised they don't have something on the web, granted it won't be an exact match, but you could probably tell if its remotely what you have in mind. I don't want barbie doll pink, they have one called reddish pink pearl that sounds like what I want...I am going to a body shop to look at books. I'd just hoped to narrow down at leisure last night.

Is this for your 73? When I grew up we had a 72 renegade that was that factory purple metalic color, great looking jeep!

    Dana,
Noticed you were looking for a fuel filler neck for your CJ5...have you found one? I needed one for mine, looked for weeks and finally "rebuilt" the one I had (welding, hammering, etc.). Also had to replace the filler hose (found the correct one) and vent hose (found an incorrect one and cut it to length). Also replaced the grommet but had to use one for an earlier jeep and cut the hole in the body out a little larger. Works great though.

I am an airbrush artist, so I understand your frustration, but what was said earlier was right. I have two monitors set up on the same computer and both can show very different results for the same color.

I would say find the color on a production car you like and search that way, but you wont find any pink there. House of Kolor is the way to go, and they have a catalog available, but you do have to pay for it. There are some great metal flake/metallic/kandy pinks in their lineup, but they can get very pricey very fast.
