Which heads for a 360?

Where I live, there are advantages for not being heard either hunting, or off roading. I have tried to keep my jeep as quiet as possible by still running the stock MC2100, air cleaner, and stock single exhaust. Well the 304 is pretty tired. It had a valve job about 30k ago, but it is time. I have a 360 that I am thinking about using with a stock cam, the MC2100, and single exhaust. The heads are wasted, but now I am thinking that maybe the relatively fresh 304 heads on the 360 might be the ticket. I want to be able to idle around with decent torque and am thinking that the 304 heads, with the smaller valves, might even work better at low RPMs than the 360 heads?
    Thoughts?

I don't know whether you'd get any advantage by running 304 heads - certainly you can if you want to. 304 heads on a 360 block is ok, but not vice-versa. The only advantage that I can imagine is that the air velocity through the valves will be somewhat higher, and this might make for better mixing before ignition.

Timgr is correct in my opinion. The smaller intake valve will be less shrouded by the cylinder wall & produce a higher velocity intake charge. Both atomization of the fuel as well as the fuel/air mixture filling the cylinder will give increased torque. Avoid longer duration on the cam lobes & use a carb with small primary venturi's. This combo is supurb for those low speed/off road conditions.

I used a set of heads from a 69 AMC 54(if memery serves me right) CCs on my 78 with a 78 AMC 360 out of truck,, & had a Holley Sreadbore with manual secondaries (very small primaries) & never run the secondars on trail rides & it would idle up hills great ,,, I had to drill out the head bolt passage ways as the 78 has 9/16s & the 69 was 1/2 bolts ,,
