Can you post a pic of the problem. Pics worth a thousand words. Might be able to come up with an idea if we can see the problem. Nickmil.

in my opinion, a shorter length column/shaft is needed to get the jacket away from the exhaust manifold.
A shorter column/shaft will allow for the u-joint closer up to the firewall; this would give you more working room for the shaft to come right down on top of the frame; you may need a pillow block or some other form of support before you get to the box.
The LF fender is gonna be right up against the outside of the frame when installed, so I don't see going outside the frame, would look ugly.
Have you got pics of the steering gear installed, where you have to get to?

Is it just the pic or is the steering column way to high/long for this anyway.....the last pic.

    I would suggest a shorter column. A eary 80s GM column. Camaro,Firebird.

Does this jeep still use the thru the floor pedals and does the brake pedal clear the bell housing?? If not, I would move the engine and trans 1-1/4" to the right side.

No it has the AA bracket for the hanging pedals... I was able to cut and section the steering column and move it close the the firewall.:)
