When I was repainting my body a while back I damaged my paint and trim tag beyond repair. I wanted to replace it and I came up with this. I draw the tag in autocad and then taped a piece of that aluminun tape that they use on heat duct work and taped it to a piece of paper and used it in my laser printer and printed the drawing from autocad on to the type. I then took that and using some number punches, I punched my numbers in. I then sprayed it with 2 coats clear urethane to protect the laser ink. Sense it was tape, I could just stick it to my jeep body. I thought it came out pretty good. About the only difference between the original and mine was the aluminun was a little thinner and the punced numbers were a little bigger ( I had 1/4" numbers and I think the original were 3/16) See the attached pic. I think in the real world it looks even better then in the pic. If anybody wants one, I will be happy to make some up for free to anybody here. Just PM me with you mailing address and your paint and trim numbers if you want me to punch then, and I will make them up and mail them to you.:)

Where is the Paint and Trim sticker located on the vehicle?

If it's still on the vehicle it would be on the firewall. IIRC.

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether the trim codes started with a "T-" before the code number on the original paint/trim stickers. That's how they are listed on the "Where's My VIN" list, but I don't know if that is how they were originally printed. Mine is long gone.
