Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Finally got a chance to take them wheeling. They seem to work really well!! I ran 12psi front/10 rear. I decided to keep them that high just to keep what little ground clearance I can (that is a problem running such a small tire)... but they seemed to flex okay anyway. Anyway, did a trail today that I could pretty much not walk, running with a couple of lifted and locked rigs, one a sammy on 33 or 35" SX's, the other a J10 cab thing running 40" swamps. I needed a little help here and there but it did well. Biggest problem I had was getting high centered on my crossmember.

Where's the trail? Oh, right in front of me.

Drove up this without too much work (you can faintly see the flatty at the top of the hill).

    Great pics!
Glad to hear the tires worked out for you. Any noticable loss of turning radius due to the lugs grabbing the springs?
I ran some 34/9.50/15's on my DJ3A for a while but they sapped so much power out of the little L head I went back to some 7.50/16 NDT's
Good to see you out enjoying them.

Nope, they don't touch the springs or frame locked either way, I'm running 1/4"negative (wide) offset wheels. I set my adjustment stops with the axle on the bench, so they bottom at the same time that the knuckle bottoms on the inside of the axle bell. I haven't verified that I'm actually getting that much turn out of my system, but whatever the limit is--steering stops, bendix joints, or Ross limitations, whatever they are, that hits before the tires do.

The little L head w/ the low geared T90 did great. It really felt like the gearing was about right. I had to bump up the idle a touch, but for the most part take your feet of the pedals and just let it drive itself. I figure my jeep's been doing this a little longer than I have...

Those 34x9.5's have some of the coolest tread ever. Too bad you can't get that on the 31x9.5 radial carcass....

great lookin' flattie... nice stance too. Nice to see an old jeep on 31's keepin up with the overkill boys.

hey just a an observation... you might consider trimming your spring u-bolts just below the nuts. You'll get a bit more clearance AND you'll avoid bending one below the nut (rendering it impossible to remove if you ever need to).

Yup, I'm guilty of the 95% done jeep. After cranking out a full blown ground up resto in 6 months, I promptly stopped and haven't done a darn thing since. Need to trim u-bolts, need to finish wiring, need to bolt front bumper on, need to get my head studs to stop leaking coolant, need to build a mount for tire, tools, and recovery equipment, need to get my other windshield on, need to get a horn and wipers on it.....

The u-bolts took a major pounding they're all tweaked every which way. I really wish I would have gotten to trimming those earlier. See, I was thinking about adding some shims to the front end to improve caster and often after you trim the u-bolts it can be a pain to get the ends nice so you can get the nuts back on. So I waited. (or maybe I'm just lazy, but either way :)

Right now I'm in central PA--the trail shown was on some private land near Altoona. Will be out in Washington state in a couple of weeks, then back here, then alaska, then minnesota, then back here, then washington, then.... It's a good thing I kind of enjoy travelling :)

I like the parade photo! Hook a left and tilt a glass at the Omar for me! Used to rent a house half way up the hill heading north out of town across from Dershams gun shop (closed now). Yellow brick place.
