Trying to put a 225 into a 70 commando frame that I've cleaned up but apparently they must have used different engine mounts for the 225s setup for the saginaw steering. Anyone know where I can find one of these mounts? Also I'll need to find the drivers side manifold too.

the left/drivers mount used with Saginaw should be the same as a V6 CJ mount.
so I would look to a CJ frame as the donor.

I replaced both engine mounts on my 70 commando recently. They are still available from your FLAPS. I will try to get the part number for you tomorrow when they are open.

The mount is the rubber part.
Which can be replaced with a buick 225 or 231 car mount.
Its a better mount more modern

The frame part is the arm if you will.
And you could use a Cj as suggested or make one.

The frame mount (arm) is the one that came with the 70 frame which was already setup for the saginaw setup. The frame had no engine when I got it and I'm trying to put the 225 from my 67 C101 into it but it won't line up.

The drivers side 225 frame engine mount is different for the Jeepster with factory Saginaw steering. It bolts on and has a curve in the top to allow the sterring shaft to pass buy. Also, the drivers side exhaust manifold is a rear dump and I think they only came on 1971 jeepsters. The 71 CJ5 did not use this set-up. You mite try Don Flecther (Parts dude) in California and see if he has these parts. Try the Jeepster site and you will find him there, other wise you may have to cut a notch in a regular engine bracket to clear the steering shaft. You may fiind a rear dump exust manifold in the juck yard, but make sure it is for a 225, as the 225 has a dog leg shape in the port which is different than a 231 odd fire. If you look at your motor you will see what I am talking about. I am using this 1971 exust manifold and frame mount in my 53 CJ3B and it fits great with my 225 and saginaw steering.

Exhaust manifolds from 231 Even Fire ]up to the early 80's will work on the 225, can't remember the exact year off hand when they changed the port size. It's posted on the board here somewhere if you really need to know :coffee:.

Ok, here is what I got
The pass side is in with the bolt through, the drivers side I unbolted the mount quite a bit and still didn't get the bolt through.

could you have the rubber mounts reversed ?
there are left and right motor mounts (rubber) for the V6
    they are not the same

Or could I have 2 of the same and I should have a different one?
I didn't notice anything odd when I pulled the 225 out of the Commando I pulled this out of and I figured the only difference was that this frame had the mount for the saginaw setup.

Could very well be. I still can't tell a left or right apart other than one has L on it and the other has R. Maybe it's easier to tell them apart when they're new, I've only seen old well used ones :).

That's definitely not the Ross and they are only one piece, like the Saginaw. There is a spacer that goes between the mount and the bracket on the back side but that's neither here nor there with whether it will line up. Check that the rubber mount is for the left side first and if you can see it still, get the part number off both sides.

Should have just got a Bullnose, problem solved  R).
Here's some original part numbers for your consideration. L-1371313 R-1369788 I was just out looking at mine and realized I have a right mount on the left side and I had no problem lining up the holes for the mount.

Took off the drivers side mount and it was marked left 1371313. Couldn't see the # on the pass side but it was marked right.
I'm just baffled as to why it won't line up. If I tighten it up to the block its like 1/2" off.
Should I try and bolt the mounts together and then suck the mount in to the block?

Do you have the tranny/TC mounted or is it just the engine? I'd try loosening the mounts on both sides and the frame bracket first and see if you can get the bolt through. Only other thing that makes sense is the frame's twisted sightly.

Ok, Loosed up the mounts from the block and ran the bolts through the mounts and then things just seemed to shift and it bolted together nicely. Thanks for the info. Just installers errorr on this side. :)
