Confused again...that appears to be the same w/shield on my 74...Why/what would indicate a CJ 2A......NEVER MIND...I see the poster on the wall...Must be to many:beer:   R)

By the By...very nice...how's the floor? If I'm not being indelicate, what's the price range in your part of the country (the great frozen N.W.) for a nice looking rig like that? They're hard to come by down here in the sunny south (he says with a roaring fire in the fireplace!!!)

    thanks for the warm welcome
and the nice replies fellow cj'ers
actually, there are 3 other tarps
w/53 MGTD, 63 bug (my very 1st car!!)
    and a 56 vette.
i'm sure the windshield is original.
it has a 258 str six
with 69,750 original miles on it.
i have every single maintenence record.
    it ran like a dream.
    i did get to thinking
that i was a little crazy
driving a strange jeep in the middle of no where!!
1,560 miles in a soft top CJ5 is not for wimps.
my #ss was sore, my back and neck were sore,
and after 2 days, i still hear the wind in the soft top!!
    i paid $7500 for it.
i have the original sticker and it was for 4,700.
the front end is up 2" and i think i'll bring it down to stock.
where is the best place to order stock parts for this jeep
    thanks guys (and gals)

here is a pic of my original 77 CJ5
i know who has it now
but they will not sell it back to me
    so i got another cj!

There are several places to order parts. 2 of my favorites are jeepdoc.com and 4wd.com

    Both are very good.

Recommend Krage Jeeps in Savannah Tennessee....www.jeepdoc.com, 866-331-5337. I have spot checked some of their parts prices compared to Turners (in Roswell GA, driving distance for me) & they appear to have slightly better pricing. Their shipping is also very reasonable ($6.00 for a 5 gal jerry can as an example).

STC Tops, available from Herm The Overdrive Guy, http://www.hermtheovredriveguy.com/ and Bestop Tiger Tops both have snaps.

FWIW, I prefer Turner or Walck's to Krage just based on past experiences with service.

the two in the side of the windshield frame are for the latch for a softtop door, such as the besttop tiger top. probably not original.

    Iowa,

my 75 has the original windshield/frame and holes in the same location as yours.......I believe that's factory.....although, I don't know what they are for.....my CJ has always had the soft top/doors.....

    Man, I love that blue.......
