Guess it depends on how much use it gets as a daily driver. I personally like the stares you get from driving an older rig. As far as 5:38's with the overdrive it's not all that bad. I went for a road test today and 70 mph is only 2800 RPM.

Yeah, thats part of the question. I like the short nose Jeep for it's cool factor and with the OD it would be road friendly, on the other hand it's already closer to being a trail rig that the 74. I have no idea what I'll end up doing. Maybe sell the 74 and buy somebody's already started gonzo project or maybe just keep one. Too many irons in the fire for my own good.

I have a similar dilema. I use my brand spankin' new '05 most of the time, and it has a rear seat in case of passengers. However the lifted, fully camoed '67 has a great WOW factor affect most people. Also from a performance and sound quality standpoint, the dauntless smokes the I6. Stay with the '66 for the DD, but make sure to get plenty of trail time too. The '74 can do the heavy lifting and is more amenable to major modifications/repairs. Preserve the heritage!

Trail the '66, use or sell the '74. If you sell the '74 thats $ for the other. Or sell the '74 and get a YJ. :D
