Although, the more I look at these diagrams the more I see there is quite a few missing parts to this thing. I dont need all that extra turn signal stuff so I am seeing if there is a way to rig this one up. Any suggestions? I may need to post this over in the tech section... we shall see.

The factory PS hose will have that bend. You should be able to pick one up at any FLAPS.

If your column has the plug receptacle at the bottom, you can order the mate to it from Centech http://www.centechwire.com/catalog/jeeps/index.html It wasn't too difficult to wire the new plug. I'm not real great at reading schematics, but I was able to pull it off. It's more work though and I'm sure you are, like me, really looking forward to just gittin' 'er done. I bought my column from Centech and though it's Jeep column, they are still a GM product. If you are interested in the plug, you are better off calling them as you'll never find it on their website.

No no, I could care less about the wiring. I just need something to turn the wheels. And man are those new column crazy expensive!
@'74Renegade I will look into the hose issue when I settle on a mount for the power steering pump. I think since I am going passenger side mount I might just have to have custom hoses made up If I cant use the ones I have.
As for the column, copper204 is going to be sending something my way that may work, or have pieces to make this one work, thanks again copper!

So until that gets here (maybe Friday) I will go pick up the harmonic balancer, and maybe head out to J&W (brace yourself wallet) and see about the bracket.

A wire wheel or flap disc works great on frames

Is that Jeep running yet? If not, even though I didn't make it by last Thanksgiving, I may have won the bet! :)

    Resurrection!
Finally I am back from the dead. My poor poor jeep has fallen victim to life. I did get it registered and out on the road in March, but it has yet to leave my neighborhood as I have yet to purchase tires that I would feel comfortable taking over 40mph (the ones on there are pretty old).
So everything was going great, I was working on the beast at night, building bumpers and I lost all self control and self preservation instinct and this happened:
Goodbye Paint job, goodbye custom roll cage, goodbye second jeep, months of drinking money, vacation weekends and/or anything else I could have used that money on.
So that kept me busy (and Broke) for a bit but eventually things calmed down. My bank accounts had just started to recover and the Jeep was looking more and more like a project I could get back to work on when out of nowhere I lost my friggin mind again and bought this:
Apparently the first thing wasn't enough, I had to throw away the next 30 years of my life. (Hey, at least it has a 2 car garage :) )
So that is where I am at now. I just spend Thursday gutting the kitchen and one bath and am estimating about 30k I'm going to have to put into this thing before I have discretionary Jeep funds. In fact the idea of selling the Jeep has entered my mind to help finance the remodel, Although I wouldn't even begin to know what it is worth.

Sorry for the Looooooong delay. all of this has come on fast. Ill snap some shots of the jeep and get em up when I move it over to the new place.

NO don't sell the jeep! Just get it drivable, and finish it over the next 20 years. 8)

So that's what you've been up to. I tried to get a hold of you a couple of times, I thought you had vaporized or something. Congrats on the house and ring, It looks like you aren't moving too far.

Welcome back and get that jeep going!!

Deja Vu! I did the same thing you are doing. The big difference is I did it 30 years ago. Marriage, house and Jeep, in that order. Don't sell the Jeep. I hate to tell ya, but "almost finished" Jeep projects aren't worth a couple of new appliances for the kitchen. I'm with '74Renegade. Stash the Jeep until you have time and money. You've earned that much, and your time will come. I had to wait for 5 years after we bought our house before I could go shopping for my Jeep. Bought my house in the late 80's for $70k, it's now worth around $400k. Bought my Jeep for $1,500, put $20k in it over 15 years and I'd probably have a hard time getting $10k for it. The big secret is, my wife still thinks I only have $5k in it. ;)

You got that right, mine has sat on more than one occasion due to finances. You can't get for it what you have in it, and starting over will cost you whole lot more.

Well congratulations. I don't know where I'll get my ideas now, was really enjoying this build. At the rate I'm going, you'll probably still be ahead of me. Definitely don't dump the jeep. You'll regret that, especially if you can gather the junk and pack it away in a corner. The good thing is they are small. The best of luck with your new life and keep up updated if and when you get to tinker.

You are not alone. I've been working on my house this year, just got engaged 3 weeks ago, and my jeep sits fully apart in the garage.
    But....
I just worked on the jeep for the last hour, cutting off an unneeded piece, while my staircase sits unfinished. Ahhh, it feels so good to have my house wait on the jeep.
