1971 Factory Wheel Paint?

My '71 has a glossy gray paint on the back and inside of the stock 15-inch wheels. Then it looks like the white was sprayed on the outside face only. Does anyone have a color code match for the gray paint? Were all '71 wheels sprayed "Alpine White" on the outside face or was it another code of white. Thanks in advnce for the assistance. bg

 

I have the original unused spare tire from my 1970. It looks just like the one you describe. Did you ever get the paint numbers? I need them too.

 

The factory wheels I've seen are more of a cream color than a pure white.

The earliest road wheel color code I have is for 1978: "Snow White", Ditzler code 2265.

I expect the gray color on the back is the primer color applied by the wheel builder (Kelsey-Hayes or whoever). Doubtful there is a color code for it.

 

INTERESTING: My wheel is more of a cream as well. People are telling me that the paint has just yellowed with age. my sideview mirror is the exact same color as the wheel. I didn't think it was suposed to be a brilliant white, yet no one seems to have a paint code. I'm about to spend a bundle on more of these wheels -- so I would love to have the right colour identified
