    Ok,

I have a titled 1966 cj5. The tile has the f-134 serial number (4J43XXXX) for the vheicle vin# on the title . Will the F134 Vin match up with the frame vin when I take it apart?

Also, my F-134's block is painted blue, I do'nt think it has been built with the amount of oil and greese on it. The blue indicated a low compression export which seems stange to me.

    Any comments

    Thanks

Engine number != Jeep SN. So no.

Jeep SN is sequential when the Jeep was built, has nothing to do with the engine.

Sparky, your computer programming geekyness is starting to show here...

(sorry....couldn't resist. Don't worry though, I'm guilty of the same occupation)...

    In other words,
Engine number "does not equal" Jeep SN.

    Thanks,

I'll be taking it down to the frame this winter, hope to find the SN on the frame. Do most people have good luck finding the frame number?

It's there. Light, but it's there.

Found mine on top of the passernger side frame rail behind the front wheel arch. It matched the S# on the VIN plate which was a nice suprise. Have fun taking it down to bare metal. Took me four days of wire wheeling and sand blasting. Afterwards, I didn't care so much about the finish so long as it went on and sealed. It's all nice and black now.

Some people talk about it being lightly done. Mine was deep, whoever stamped mine on must have been in a bad mood that day.

mine was pretty light now that I look. I think the numbers were applied individually because not all of my numbers are imprinted with the same depth.

Most times I have had to wire brush the top of the frame to find the serial number.
