    Hi all,

Is there such a thing as "correct" hubcaps for a 58 CJ5? I see pix of later vintage CJs with those super-cool center caps that have old-style jeep logos for the back wheels and holes cut out for the front hubs...but are they "right" for a 58? or is " n hubcaps" correct for my Jeep?

Well is it happens, I tripped over one of those full centered center caps with the indent FANCY "W" on it in the garage. Most of the red paint is no longer there in the indent, Interested?

He wants to know what the correct hubcap is, not whether anyone has any for sale.

Thanks Dale I really am only looking for info about whether mine should have them or not... but if I can find ones that are supposed to be on a 1958 then I will be interested.
I will PM you to keep us in good with the mods and may post a WTB as well!

BUMP Surmising this is a "no"? Or at least a general "no idea"? In searching old photos, the only ones i have seen are on Jeepsters and wagons.

I suspect that no hubcaps appeared prior to the Tuxedo Park models. I know you could get hubcaps as an option in the '70s, but maybe not prior to that.

The ones you describe with the baby moon and the gold and red emblem in the middle are usually advertised as Commando, Jeepster, and pickup hubcaps but they do fit the jeep rims. They seem to be in demand as I had to bid on a bunch of them before I finally got a set of four on ePay. Figures, now I have them they are growing on trees and now I have some NOS ones. Even got one with a red and blue center , and i have NO IDEA what took that color. My avatar DJ wears its set proudly on 15 inch Cj5 rims. (Yes, originally it took 4 lug rims that they wouldn't fit, but someone actually redrilled the hubs on that jeep to take the jeep 5 lug pattern)

If you like them, go ahead and use them! Hint...buying ones or twos might be easiest way to get a good set on ePay. The ones with the cutouts seem to go the cheapest.
