I didn’t like the original steps into the jeep. I really like Norcal69’s sliders that he sells. I had some leftover tubing from the roll cage installation and decided to give it a go to copy his sliders. I like them better than the step, but I think they are too far off the body. They need to be cut down slightly. What do you all think? I see Norcal69 has twice the bolts in his, but I don’t think I’ll be sliding off any big boulders here in Florida. I will be placing the reproduced steps in the classifieds.

Looks okay as a step, but with that much leverage any hard hits would bend the bodywork, so it appears. But I'm not a slider type of guy.

I agree. I think if I tighten in toward the body it will be stronger.

For true rock use, you will want some underlap under the body, and then mount through the floorpan as well.

The flange I welded to is angled under the body and attached with bolts. I just think it is too wide. I’ll chop them down tomorrow.
