I finally decided to replace the hood welting that I’ve had the replacement here for several years. When it came the to do the windshield rests when it’s down, I found something curious. What was there was only held on by a rivet on each side ends. Nothing in the middle. Kind of made sense so you would never have to worry about the rivet possibly rubbing on the hood paint. But my metal brackets had two holes drilled in the front of the brackets evenly spaced towards the ends AND a hole on each end. But curiously they were not spaced the same on each end. In fact one is closer to the front than the end so the new welt kind of flaps on that end. I did not put the rivets on the front yet and the kit was actually short 1 rivet to accomplish that.

    Input?

I've got a picture I snitched off the net that shows rivets in the front-

The military parts manual calls for 4 rivets each side-

Thanks. Ok, that answers that, now to find an extra rivet. Or dig thru the garage trash to see if I can find a good old one I took off.

    Mickey,

If you don't find a usable rivet in the trash can, PM me an address and I'll send you some.
