The point is, if you have Death Wobble your steering system needs attention, regardless of towing or not towing.

While that is true, when flat towing, you eliminate the Ross box and the draglink from the equation so there are a few less components in play. I flat towed my 3B on several long trips from MT to CO and UT while it had the Ross box steering and never once had any problems. The tow bar mounting I made for the 3B has a vertical tab on the left side bracket with a corresponding hole in the tow bar arm for a pin to positively lock the bar in the upright position. That bracket remains on the B but hasn't seen a tow bar in three decades.

Mine is not as nice as Duffers of course, but similar idea...a 1/4" pin holds the towbar up.

I also use my safety chain hooked to the winch for additional security.

My towbar is almost always on the Jeep and it's never been an issue in 25 years.

This is similar to how the state fair jeep was set-up. The pin wasn't latched, just slid in place bounced loose and the bar fell when I started to slow the jeep down.

Mine used to just have a safety chain hooked to the bracket but it apparently bounced the chain off the angle iron.
Now it gets a pin through the upper snow plow lift bracket... now that I don't have that bracket, I just pull the tow bar. It's two pins and chains, not a lot of extra work.
