Seems like a fair deal. I'd want to verify whether that the PTO is for a CJ, or clocked for a truck.

 

What pulling capacity were these winches rated at?

PTO winches like this have seemingly limitless capacity. The mounting, and the cable/rope are the realistic limits. I’ve seen one completely rip off the front mount/bumper and winch assy. from the chassis. In this case, he was the primary winch vehicle pulling a flooded vehicle out of the surf (on the beach). Two more vehicles were tied together in-line as anchor vehicles.
Breaking the “suction” of the vehicle part buried in wet sand was way more than everyone anticipated. The PTO winch didn’t care!

That's interesting because the warn 8274 went to a 4.5hp motor. The single direction uprights were only 2hp

 

Interesting. I just picked up a used electric-hybrid Ramsey 200, and the amp rating converts to....4.5 HP.
