CA86BEF8-6462-4226-83F2-42D04DA94002.jpeg I got these pics from a Facebook seller. I don’t know all the part numbers, but I bet some of you do…

    9E3BA8D6-0C83-4F28-9510-F649FCD0CB59.jpeg

The axles he has are Dana 44, both 3.73 ratio.

He also has an AMC 290 v8, a Ramsey PTO and winch as well as the springs & such from “a Jeep”.

    Can you help me out?

‘72-‘79 CJ model 20 transfer case. From what I can see of the transmission top it looks like a T-15. I can’t see the front of the top to tell for sure. If there are two bolts closer together than the others in the front then T-15. The transfer case shifter lever is obscuring where they would be in the picture.

The ad states (yeah, I know…):

“This comes from an estate. Everything has been stored in a garage for at least 20 years.

290 AMC Engine, complete carb to pan.
Dana 44 axles. Front and rear.

4 speed Manual transmission and transfer case. I'm told "trans is one of the best 4 speed transmissions AMC ever produced, and the transfer case is the venerated gear to gear traction lock transfer cases that made jeep famous for never getting stuck."

Miscellaneous parts include power steering box and Ramsey 8000 lb PTO winch. Tell me what you think it's worth and we'll talk. Preferably sell everything at once. “

Front axle is an open-knuckle with drum brakes & Warn hubs (it appears). The drag link and tie rod are attached. This would be an intermediate CJ, I presume. My ‘72 has open knuckles; the ‘67 was not.

The rear is a centered D44, 5-bolt hub.
There’s a really short driveshaft that, to me, says CJ5.

The seller doesn’t know much about it.

    The seller sent more info…

It’s a three-speed transmission, just as Nick suspected. The casting number on the case confirmed it.

    :booo:

I already have a T15 and a D20 as well as a set of 3.73 axles. There’s no need to spend money on more of the same. If it was a T18 and a D300, with 4.27 or 4.88 axles…

    It's likely a Dana 30 front axle, not a Dana 44.

If he really has a 290, thats no newer than a 1969. That engine became a 304 for ‘70/‘71. Some of the 4bbl 290’s were good performers in the early AMX’s.

The pictures in the ad showed the engine with “290” cast in the block. It also had what appeared to be a four-barrel carb.

The seller is in Sioux Falls, SD if anyone wants to look it up on FB marketplace. I don’t have FB, just use Mrs. B’s sometimes.
