61' CJ5 had 11K on PO rebuild, too much/present RTV, clogged oil pickup and starved.
NOS crank, NOS camshaft with Isky cam. Machine shop did a good job on the machine work, failed on the assembly miserably. I got them to refund me, all I lack is installing head, oil pump and distributor time/clock. Back in it goes.

I had the IAY 4401 rebuilt/recurved by Advanced Distributors, adding a Weber 32/36. I plan to have a custom tri y header made in the future.

He also did a poor paint job, I checked the head/valves, stripped down for Rustoleum Professional in red to denote high compression and Isky grind. I'll strip some of the block, repaint that as well.

Waiting on the pilot bearing, I got bored. One thing that helps me focus and shift stress out, spending hours on a tedious project with the end result in mind, then it comes into fruition.

About to wrap this up. Let me tell you what else the ding dong machinist did. One of the rocker arm passages on the bottom was completely plugged... And one of the rocker adjustment nuts is missing, and he sent me on my way like this....

Brake cleaner and air through the passages. Looking around the garage for another thin nut so I can adjust the top and bottom lashes.

All that's left is ancillary, clean up the clutch fork, grease and stab this sucker back into place!

Looks like you might have 3 intake springs upside down...that or I'm seeing things.

Good catch, another dingish move on his part. I think correcting those will be the end of mistakes. Always great to have a second set of eyes

Made an oil primer using pressurized spray bottle and a PSI gauge staying between 10-15 psi and fed the oil, turned crank. Getting closer as soon as I have a good 4-6hrs straight
