Looking for a D18 mainshaft gear for Tera low gears. I believe this would be 26 tooth, and needs be a 10 spline for T14.
Probably have to contact herm, but thought I'd check here first.
    Thanks!

I don’t believe Tera Flex ever made a 10 spline mainshaft gear.

I believe the only way to drive a Tera Flex gear set via
the T14 is to have a 10 spline Warn overdrive modified with the $400 Tera Flex bowl gear.

fltfndr , John is also dealing with this same issue…..

I thought when I originally bought the low gear set from Tera there was 4 gear sets for both 6 and 10 spline. I bought only the 3 gear set as I ran it with an OD. I got the 26 tooth 10 spline barrel and planetary gear from AA - it was a good deal then. I'd like a 26 tooth 10 spline mainshaft gear for the trail repair kit....too many ODs having issues (especially with the Saturn shift fork?) that I'd like to be able to just pull the OD and run without it if needed on trail. Of course, there are some other variables involved here, so if it's unobtanium, I have an alternate plan.

Well I can’t positively remember if such a gear ever existed. With Tera flex no longer selling the low gears and low gear sets it’s going to be especially tough to locate any of the Tera Flex 3.15 gears.
I hear that Herm has reverse engineered the TF 3.15 gears and is having them made for him.

Yup...he's even listed the low gears on his website, but only the 6spline 26tooth mainshaft gear...I struggle a bit dealing with herm, but guessing he'll be the best option...

    I thought you were going with a 4:1 T18?

From my previous experience I have written Herm off as a supplier of anything. Your experience may be different.

^^^ That would likely be the cheaper option long term.

Another lead would be to contact Jpet on the 2a forum since he knows what you need and is able to make gears. I would think it is possible but cost prohibitive.

T18 Probably not happening this summer, so just wanted to see if I could find one to ensure my summer wheeling goes well...two OWF members have been left stranded with OD gone bad in the last year...

Also, when I do go with the T18, I'll have to decide whether to change the 26 tooth barrel gear planetaries to 6 spline, or swap the mainshaft to 10spline as part of a rebuild to work with the current set up....given the lack of 10spine options, its looking like swapping the planetaries will be the way to go.

About the same....but as time passes, there are fewer supplier options. I've had good interactions with AA, but they don't typically deal with mainshaft gears...but will be giving them a call just to check.

Yeah, I opted for the 6 spline T-18 output shaft for just that reason. More parts availability.

You'd need to replace the planetary hub, $300ish from AA.

Jpet may already be considering making the 10 spline version of that gear. It has been discussed. I would like to get a 6 spline version for the exact same reason Fino is looking for the 10 spline. I'm not sure I trust Herm's version. I suspect those are made in India or china. It may be a moot point if I like the 5.13 gears Jpet is making for the D18. I'll miss the OD but it is by far the weakest link in my 3B drivetrain. There is also going to be a sizable gap in gear ratios between 4th gear low range and first gear high range but I think I can live with that.
