Cane was OEM on my '56/57.

But very easy to accidentally release with my knee when getting out.

Could be dangerous. I suspect that might be why it was changed.

The military e-brake between the seats is my favorite.

I've done that with the T handle type as well.

I was at the local pick-in-pull the other day gathering treasure. I removed a center between the front seats pull up parking brake handle assy. For 5 dollars. Came from a KIA Sportage. Looks like it would be easy to modify for parking brakes. looks almost like the one timgr posted above.

I bought a NOS T handle brake from Debella because my original has a piece of the bakelite broken on one tip. It was nearly perfect until I dropped it and broke that piece off.

It is in serviceable condition and I think I still have the broken piece.

$25 plus shipping and it is yours.
