Seat Belt Restoration

So I finally found 4 Original Seat Belts.. 2 of them have some minor rust. Any advice on how to restore the belts and buckles?

There’s a Thread in this same forum just above this one with a link to a shop that will restore it for you called Sharon’s web.

If you want to do it yourself, you will need to get the chrome parts replated, and you will need to find someone to help you source and re-stitch the webbing.

I am going to go the route of having a friend at our community makerspace help me re stitch new webbing and will clean and polish my buckles as best as I can.

For the anchors I will bead blast them and paint them.

what shape are yours in?

 

Mine are really in great shape...I actually found and contacted Sharon's Web yesterday. At first the phone number had been disconnected and email bouncing back but eventually I got an email from Bridgett..She had bought up Sharon earlier this summer maybe? At any rate, the re-chroming everything inside and out, re-stitching with the same stitch patter, re-storing the boots, and can even do any original labels that may have been on the belts. I'm sending her 4 belts...preliminarily $475 for everything....Since some other members have used them in the past and claim great work I'm going to go with it. I'll post before and after pics

 

I highly recommend Sharons web. She did 6 belts for me and they look like they did the day they were installed at the factory.
