Looking for rear hubs with 10” drums from a D44 with tapered axle.
Anybody got any candidates in their bone pile?

    Thanks,
    Andy

The drums can be bought new for a reasonable price. I bought some last year, I can't remember where I got them from but found them listed on several sites.

Same 10" drums were used for several vehicles.

The hubs are the same for any of the Jeeps with the tapered axles, they are not specific to 10" brakes, so should be some out there. I may have a pair I can let go of after I get back from the Fall reunion in Fulton, but I won't know until I see them.

I just spotted a pair of hubs that look good on Ebay, current bid is $5, but that don't mean much. I just did a search for "rear hub CJ" and these were first on the list. The seller seems to know something about Jeeps from reading his description.

    Ebay item number: 265288905255

Widen your search to C101 (Jeepster) drums. Most were 10". I have bought "closeouts" from RockAuto for around $12 each.

You might compare the costs on the 10" brakes against upgrading to the 11" brakes. The 11" brakes were considerably more common and are much less expensive. The downside is that you need to source the backing plates.

That is what I would recommend also, I have 11" drum brakes on all four corners of both of my drivable Jeeps and will do the same for the other one I am building.

Someone has listed a set of four complete 11" brakes in this forum for $325 which is a good bit less than what I have spent upgrading my Jeeps to 11" all around.

I saw that this morning. Since mine are now new and I plan on putting discs on the front, I’ll have to let it pass.
