Gettin frustrating. My heap has had an oil leak forever. Not a big one just a small one. 4-5 years ago I replaced the pan gasket. Still a bit of a leak. Figured it was the rear main seal. Just lived with it. So about a month or so ago I noticed it was really pouring out onto the floor. So I replaced the rear main and the pan gasket. Sealed everything up real good. Parked the Jeep in the garage and haven't ran it since. My son's were over and noticed a bunch of oil on the cardboard under the jeep. I had also noticed leaking from the valve covers. Replaced both valve cover gaskets yesterday. While doing the covers I found anti-freeze on top of the engine. I am thinking the leaking I am seeing on the floor now is anti-freeze not oil. I also replaced the water pump last Sept cuz it was leaking. And then when I removed the radiator to replace the pump it was broke and leaking. Yes I also have replaced the radiator and all hoses. Water pump I put in was a high volume aluminum deal. The leaking seems to be coming from the T-stat housing or hoses connected. Still have to check that out. Rant off....

Hoses seem to always be prone to leaking since generally we try not to over tighten them.

The upper radiator hose on my '71 is leaking. I thought it was the thermostat housing and changed it, but no luck. The hose looked find inside, but no matter how much you tighten the clamp there is a tell-tale water track. A new hose is showing up this week. I hope that finally fixes it. Chasing down leaks is a pain in the butt.

Tough to be fifty-plus years old and have never taken a leak...

Evidently I don't know the difference visually between oil and anti-freeze. I went and checked it out today and found all hose clamps tight, but some of the stuff laying on the manifold turned out to be oil.. I vaguely remember filling it up and having an overflow. I had a big funnel in the fill tube and didn't notice all the oil. Seems it migrated along to top of the pass side valve cover and down to the tranny/flywheel area where it had been leaking before.. Cleaned it all up and we'll see..
