I managed to score this rather compact shaker on CL for cheap but it only did gallons.
I shopped for adapters, of which there were a few but they were all over $100 (more than I spent on the shaker) and were pretty much quart adapters. I'd have to but a quart to pint adapter in addition if I wanted that. Smaller containers, forget it. Anyway, I came up with this thing.
It's not pretty but will handle a quart, one or two pints, and really anything I can sandwich between the top and bottom plates. This was supposed to just be a prototype. I've used it for months now and while I wish it were a little better looking, it does it's job so well I have no reason to make another. I was tempted to make a nice one from delrin or aluminum plate, little circles cut to center the cans and all the rest, but the plywood has just enough give to gold things really securely. The only change I really want is to find another of the large wing-nuts.

When I was very little, my favorite thing was watching the paint shaker at our local hardware store.
