Found this in phoenix. Gonna try to look at it next week.
134 cu in (2.2 L) Hurricane I4
Military style park brake (external shoes)?
Frame appears to be strapped top and bottom, odd outboard brackets for trans crossmember, and low battery tray. Are these characteristic of an M38A1 frame?
3B frame? Don't know what's up with the parking brake. MB/GPW?
I think I've seen strapping top and bottom on CJ6 frames before. Maybe military models too?
What models had those crossmember mounts on the outboard sides of the frame?
The strapping and crossmember are not stock to a 3B frame.
I think MB/GPW and CJ2A had outboard mounts but I'm not certain of that.
I'll take a stab at this one, an M38? Its got the military parking brake and bellows for the clutch cable into the bellhousing. I parted an M38 probably 40 years ago, and the trans crossmember was hung by those outboard mounts. I don't remember strapping though.
It wouldn't be an F head though.
Maybe an M606 (Or whatever the military 3B is)?
My first cj2a had the outboard transmission crossmember mount. The frame i got in my pile of parts was said to be a 3B and it was strapped with the same kind of mount.
Thats a 2A frame.
You guys are killing it. Thank you so much for the information. Not sure if she spins. If I pick it up I will strip it for the carter & other periphery parts. I want to rebuild the t90 & T18 for fun. Might try to build a new Jeep from bottom up. Who knows.
Frame looks like mine, CJ2A.
But the parking brake is M38/M38A1.
