Maybe fuel pump.........although the fact that there is still fuel in the float bowl and doesn't seem to want to burn it off might tell you the innards of the carb could still be plugged up .........might want to take it apart once again replace the gaskets , blow the jets and all passages out replace the needle and seat , reset the float height & choke also replace the base gaskets on the carb to manifold as a vacuum leak could be also part of the problem...........and then try just a small can of clean gas elevated over the carburetor or a long say 12" piece of clean fuel line filled with gas elevated just over the fuel bowl & leave the end open for a vent ............you should also install a new clear plastic filter in line next to the carburetor................

Of course don't allow that fuel to come in contact with anything Hot while running......make sure your temporary fuel can or fuel line is secure and will not fall over during the process .........a good fire extinguisher is always good to have nearby.

Point is get it to run and run out of fuel eliminating anything downstream of the carburetor.............if it runs there start by replacing the fuel pump and then blowing out all the original lines from the carburetor back to the tank and also try to somehow flush the tank out or replace it...........always keep a clean clear plastic filter in the line next to the carburetor that can be easily changed when you see debris inside.

If bowl is full, and it still dies, I bet it's in the fire, not the fuel.
Run a jumper wire from the bat + to the + side of coil and try it.
If that don't do it, try another coil, also might try a file the points, they corrode.

As Pete mentioned, too much fuel will cause it to die as well. You can check this with air cleaner off and engine running, you will see fuel percolating up out of the float bowl overflow tube and spilling down into the carb throat as it sputters and dies. Flooding symptoms are very similar to fuel starvation.

Basically the fuel pump pouring fuel past the metering of the carb and directly into the engine.

The cause here is a bad, leaky or saturated float or bad float valve needle/seat. If you have the black Nitrophyl type float, highly suggest brass instead as there is no good way to tell when the Nitrophyl ones go bad.

My "new" fuel pump went bad in less than 6 months. Don't count on it being new to ignore that.

With the fuel bowl being full I'd lean towards the bad needle valve thought, although I would expect it to start running rich first and not necessarily just die right away.

I cant count the times a "new" part that was still bad cost me time on a job, always suspect the last thing you have changed . this is why I don't change a bunch o parts at once whilst chasing an issue...

When water separates out of ethanol nothing will be right until you get that little blob of water out of your carb. You can run seafoam, 92 non-ethanol, nothing will work until you physically slurp out or drain that water out of your carb.

And that water is heavier than fuel so it goes right to the bottom of the bowl. If you’re still running 10-15% ethanol or more (heavens to Betsy!), you’re still adding to that water in your fuel, gradually, but yeah. The ethanol, the alcohol (corn squeezins), is hygroscopic, so it’s pulling moisture out of the air constantly. :(

When I get my heap on the road, I’m pledging to run 100% gasoline especially if I drive less and the Jeep sits more.

The gas tank is going to be my first job here. The float bowl is dry right now, so I’m going to go straight to the tank for a drain and clean.

You said it wouldn't run from a separate fuel source direct to the pump, so I'm having trouble understanding that logic.

Sorry if my reply wasn’t clear. When running a fuel hose directly to a separate tank of fresh gas it fired right up, but wouldn’t stay running. I’m presuming a mixture problem as I can get it to fire back up right away.
