I have a fairly low rust 71 Jeepster and was looking for parts when I came across this one. Took a ride last weekend and went back today to pick it up. Basically another 71, that this owner removed the auto and Tc out of for another project. He didn't need the running Dauntless so he included it in the deal with a 2nd running Dauntless. He bolted on an early 5 nose from his stash for me, after I told him I was looking for a nose and then we loaded the complete Commando nose into the back of my truck with four other boxes of parts. So when I got home I started to unwrap the surprises. Ended up with some real treasures, including a set of working Jeep seat belts, my first set ever in my hands. Can't tell from the pics, but the embossing is sweet, at least to me. I kind of like the early five nose on the Jeepster. Very different.

Nice extra parts to have. Surprisingly enough , the Jeepster has another Jeep radio in it, along with arm rests, nice seats, sun visors, perfect dash, clean and clear windshield with wipers and there is a second complete wiper system in the boxes, Originally an automatic but he included a set of drop pedals for a standard. Thinking about a buggy build for this down the road. PO had a metal shop and made all new SS floors and fender wells in the rear along with a rear floor. Pretty solid, just not original enough to restore, for me at least.

I hate to say, but $600 . I am going to have to sell off whats left over eventually. Extra manual steering box, seat bases with slider, tailgate latches and arms, dash pad, starter, motor, well when I get through all of it. I think the two CJ back seats are going to make nice bench seats in the man cave. Too bad the Lareado seat had a few rips.

In one of the bins, I also found this. A PS pump and bracket and it fits the Dauntless under the hood (not the rear wheel drive Dauntless in the bed) The motor has one of the exhaust manifold studs with two nuts , instead of the rest of the studs. Fits perfectly to the engine 's front head holes. So how rare is this, because I have seen other Buick versions, but never one like this.

Nice seats (recovered) with slider, dash is straight and it has matching arm rests. There in the middle is another Jeep Radio and the channels actually change by push button. Going to be interesting if I can get it to work. PO already installed the PS with a steering column I am NOT familiar with, but the wheel is cool. Yes, that's also a Dana 30 up front with 11 inch backing plates on the brakes, but no brake parts. I have a narrow track 30 with disc's brakes and hoping I can swap out the brake parts. Now I have to hunt down a TH350 with Pontiac, Olds, Buick bolt pattern.

You'd better write that guy an apology letter for stealing all that.

I want to vote for keeping the cj nose on it, but only if you put the commando nose on a cj to see what that looks like too.

timgr is going to kill me, but I thought later this week, I would put the new Commando nose on my lifted CJ6, just to what that would look like. I have seen the JC nose on an early 5, but never a six. I'm going to half (see what I did there) to at least try it. I will post pictures when I do.

Did anyone notice the 16 inch rims on the front. I'm calling him back to see if he has the other two, or three, or for that matter all that he has.

Yes I believe it was NAPA.I also brazed a -6an steel flare fitting in the reservoir for return line so I didn't have those hose clamps .

Yeh, I saw this picture back then during that discussion. I like it, but have we ever seen a cj6 with that nose ? If not, we will soon. Maybe even tomorrow, if I am not heading out to find a TH350 with Buick bolt pattern.
