Its not an issue with a double cardan drive shaft.
He will loose a bit of crawl ratio, although he may have had plenty.

I accidently dropped the front end/tie rod onto the jack somehow last year. I like it with the Banana. Gives more clearance!!

See, these are the things I didn't really consider. I don't want to loose any Crawl!! How much are you thinking? And Dbl cardan driveshaft sounds expensive!
I have boxes of parts coming into my office a few times a week already (and $$$ going out to match).

I personally wouldn't want any less than 60 for what you like to do with your jeep.
What gear ratios are in your front and rear axles?

Me too. The lunchboxes work great but all the driveline slack is annoying with one in the rear. Eventually I'll put a ff together for the rear and blow the coin on a selectable.

How soon do you want to swap things over? If I find the right axles I won't need my 3b's 30/44 (4.88).

    T18, D18, 3.73s, you’re at 58.5:1 now.

    T18, D20, 3.73s would be 47:1.

    T18, D20, 4.88s would be 61.6.

Front shaft in a Ford Explorer is an easy cut-n-swap.

Cut off the driver side shock mount and then welded both back on. Pretty close to vertical ( no I didn’t measure).

At full compression, is the shock body going to punch the axle tube? Usually if it won’t clear right side up, there will still be clearance issues upside down.

I think I’m going to be ok. I’ll check that when I get the wheels back on. Thanks for the heads up.
