I threw in a picture of my steering wheel puller in action. It is a single post hydraulic bumper jack at least 50 years old. I remember using it at my dad's Shell Station in 1965. You just have to put some pressure on the wheel, not to much, and hit it a couple of times with a rubber mallet. This jack has saved my butt many times.

    I love my new horn.

Wired the "57 yesterday. Horn makes an anemic sound. I can see the diaphragm move, but it doesn't "beep", just a weird short chirp. Since I disassembled it and reassembled it can anyonye tell me what the adjustements are? Maybe something too tight or loose.

Yes they do. Fiddled with both adjustments and got it working. Makes a nice beep sound again.

So took some time today to work on the Jeep Automate horn, front is riveted on, after inspecting I pried the back off, came right off easily and all this time I assumed it was spot welded to the rivets, there is an adjustment nut inside that I fiddled with and away we go.....saved $40 on a beep beep replacement.....every once in a while even blind old dog gets a squirrel....

If any of you want a really loud “beep beep” horn, find an ‘80s-‘90s Volvo in the junkyard. They’re a pair (hi/lo tone) mounted dead center behind the grill. The pair are mounted together on a common bracket and take less than a minute to remove. You can use the hi tone one to sound more like the original Sparton, but the pair together really loud.
I still prefer the original Sparton, but if your original is too tired, the Volvo set work well.

By the way, the ‘70s Plymouth Roadrunner used the same Sparton horn as our Jeeps, but it was painted lavender and those examples sell used for hundreds of $$.

Got a bad M38A1 horn in the shop. I may take out the rivets and see what's in it.
Doesn't work now. What can it hurt?
The one on the 53 M38A1 quit working. Gotta check that one out while the weather's nice.
Always thought the Roadrunner sounded the same. Now I know.
    Pretty cool.
